Rider's McKenzie Sends First Women's Game to OT

If you want plenty of basketball, you're getting it today at the MassMutual Center in the MAAC tournament.

The event's first game, a first-round contest between Rider and Iona, is going into overtime thanks to a MyNeshia McKenzie put-back bucket at the buzzer that enabled the Broncs to tie things up at 54.

According to arena officials, the contest will become the longest Division I women's game ever played at the Springfield facility.

Then again, any game would have qualified for that designation. The appearance of the MAAC's women's tournament here marked the first time the arena has ever hosted a Division I women's game.
